I wrote a blog a while back on May 4th on my own research about proper fueling, fasting and fad diets. What are those things actually doing to our bodies and how men and women respond differently. Virtual racing isn't everyone's cup of tea (or should I say cup of hot chocolate! ) but there are some benefits of virtual racing - flexible start time, course selection and clean/no line bathrooms are a few. I was expecting to race a virtual 5k on a cold November morning, maybe 30 degrees or so, light wind, and then curl up for the rest of the afternoon with a cup of hot chocolate but 2020 in Wisconsin had some other plans. I was listening to the BibRave Podcast episode #217, "Navigating Uncertainty - With Dr. Justin Ross" and it was mentioned that we had to adapt once we realized the pandemic was no longer this "temporary" situation. If we wanted to continue to live and fulfill our lives we needed to adjust our lives to the situation and make the best of it. That was a bit of a wake-up for me. I don't know about you but I felt like I had let myself fall into a "this is temporary" attitude. Back in March when school first went virtual, the expectations for students were kept pretty laid back.
